vSphere5.5下的vCenter虚拟机不要升级到硬件版本10
当使用vSphere 5.5的vSphere Client创建的虚拟机默认的硬件版本是v8。硬件版本v8是在vSphere 5.0的时候发布的，到了vSphere 5.1最新的硬件版本是v9，而vSphere 5.5则是v10，但是vSphere Client 5.5却无法对硬件版本v10的虚拟机进行配置更改，最高支持到v8。
所以在升级虚拟机的硬件版本的时候要特别注意，当VM硬件版本升级到10以后，就只能用vSphere Web Client进行维护了。
特别要当心的是vCenter虚拟机，尤其是vCenter Server Appliance。因为vSphere Web Client必须依靠vCenter上的webClient service，如果vCenter Server这个虚拟机升级到了v10，但是某种原因webClient service不工作，vSphere Web Client就不能用，而此时要管理就必须用vSphere Client，但是vSphere Client又不支持版本10，完蛋了。。。你被困住了。所以，千万不要把vCenter虚拟机升级到版本10。
事实上vSphere 5.5的文档中就特别提到了这一点。
If you update the vCenter Server appliance to hardware version 10, you cannot edit the virtual machine settings for the appliance using the vSphere Client. This might cause difficulties in managing the vCenter Server Appliance, because you cannot use the vSphere Web Client to connect directly to the host on which the vCenter Server Appliance resides to manage it. Do not upgrade the vCenter Server Appliance to hardware version 10. VMware vSphere 5.5 Documentation Center
