SAP NetWeaver as the application and integration platform encourages the integration of business processes between different application systems via open XML-based standards. As part of SAP NetWeaver, SAP Exchange Infrastructure addresses process integration for internal and cross-company communication.
SAP offers a multitude of mySAP.com application components, with several thousand standardized interfaces for the current releases.
This presents the challenge of finding and connecting suitable interface versions for several different application systems or components. Common Web standards such as XML must be supported. The aim of the Interface Repository (IFR) is to publish all standard SAP interfaces centrally as XML interfaces in agreement on W3C standards.
The presented interfaces are BAPIs, IDOCs and selected RFCs (remote function calls). This means that all the standard interfaces officially supported by SAP can be displayed, retrieved and administered in one general repository.
